Speakeasy Cinema, identity, 2013
Speakeasy was a long-running Melbourne based independent cinema directed by Ghita Loebenstein hosting in pop-up venues and screening alongside various cultural festivals and events.
Speakeasy’s visual style took cues from deco, punk and fashion aesthetics. We consistently produced all of the cinemas flyers and screening listings on a Risograph printer to keep costs down but also to emphasise the temporary and rebellious nature of its programming.
